Ryan Villopoto is leading the 2011 AMA Supercross Championship. Come tonight, he could win his first ever AMA Supercross title! It's the start of professional motocross at the highest level in the USA - the AMA National Motocross Championships. It's a 12 stop tour, that begins this week just outside of Sacramento, California.

Today was the season opening press conference on the steps of the Capital Building in Sacramento.

Jason Weigandt was the 'host' of the press conference. Dirt Diggers MC, promoters of this race, talked about how much it's been raining, how much work they've put into the track prep, and are excited about this year's race.

Next they brought of motocross / supercross stars Trey Canard, Ryan Dungey, Ryan Villopoto, and Chad Reed. They answered a few questions the upcoming season. Then they brought of Jessica Patterson, Brett Metcalfe, Andrew Short, Ashley Fiolek, and Christophe Pourcel (yes, number 377 is returning to racing, now on the 450 Yamaha for Moto-Concepts).

Afterwards they all signed autographs, including Kevin Windham, who will be racing for American Honda, and chatted with fans.
